Caleb Nelson’s original artwork: The most powerful thing you’ll ever build... is the thing you’ll never see finished

We spend so much of our lives “climbing.”
Chasing success.
Trying to prove something.
Trying to feel “enough.”
Trying to finally arrive.

But lately, I’ve been thinking less about the climb…
And more about what’s on the other side of it.

I just finished reading The Go-Giver again.

There’s one core idea in that book that stuck with me:
The more you give, the more it comes back.

But what if we go even further?

What if the most powerful form of giving…
is giving something that we may never personally benefit from?

That’s legacy.
That’s transcendence.
That’s purpose.

And the more I reflect on it, the more I see the pattern everywhere.

To me, transcendence is about service.
It’s about giving beyond yourself…
Creating something you might never see finished…
Planting a seed for a tree whose shade you’ll never sit under.

And ironically?

When you give from that level, from a place of deep purpose and genuine service,
life still blesses you back.

Not because you expected it…
But because you gave without expectation.

It’s the kind of purpose that makes you feel full while you’re doing the work.
Because you know it matters, even if no one claps, even if no one sees.

The primary enjoyment is INTERNAL.

So this week, I invite you to ask yourself:

What are you giving that lives beyond your name?

What will your work create for someone else, maybe even someone you’ll never meet?

What’s the legacy you want to leave behind… not just in business, but in the lives you touch?

You may never know all the people your work will impact.
But they’ll know.

And that ripple effect?

That’s what it’s all for.
