What Does Your Calendar Say About Your Self-Worth?
Originally shared June 12, 2025 in the Naked Sunday Newsletter. Adapted for the journal.

“As above, so below.”
This is one of the Hermetic principles. Simply put, it means your outer world reflects your inner world.
What’s in your schedule… reflects what’s in your belief system.
So here’s a question for you:
What does your calendar say about how you value yourself?
You can say your health matters.
You can say you want more time with your family.
You can say you want to feel more fulfilled, more free…
But if those things aren’t actually on your calendar—
Are they truly a priority?
Or are they just things you hope will happen once you “earn” them?
I’m not asking to shame you.
I’m asking because I’ve lived this.
For years, I packed my days with work—clients, meetings, tasks, to-do’s.
I told myself I was being responsible. Productive. A leader.
But really?
I was in a rush to prove I was worthy.
Worthy of success.
Worthy of approval.
Worthy of love.
And somewhere along the way, I forgot to ask:
What’s this all actually for?
That’s when this hit me:
“You’re only in a rush because you don’t believe that you’re ‘enough.’
Remember that you have value for being yourself.
You will discover all the patience you need to create the life you want, and enjoy every day of the journey.”
That’s the truth most high-performers overlook:
It’s not a time issue. It’s a self-worth issue.
And until you believe you deserve time for your joy, your health, your dreams…
You’ll keep filling your calendar with everything but those things.
As above, so below.
As within, so without.
If you want more alignment in your outer life—
It starts with believing you’re allowed to feel good now.
Not later. Not when it’s all done. Not when it’s perfect.
Now.
So here’s the invitation:
What would your calendar look like if it reflected your highest self?
Would it include:
A workout that leaves you feeling more alive?
Space to think, dream, or just be?
A slow dinner with your partner?
A project that scares you (in the best way)?
Start there.
Schedule it.
And trust that you’re worth the time.
