Thinking About Mortality Can Clarify How You Want to Live

Think About Your Death.
Yes, you read that right.
Before you scroll past because this sounds too dark or morbid, hear me out…
We spend so much time running from death—filling our schedules with endless tasks, burying ourselves in busy work, or chasing goals that feel empty, all to avoid confronting the inevitable.
But what if I told you that’s why you feel so unfulfilled?
The frustration, the plateau, the nagging sense that there’s something missing—it’s all because these things are just distractions, keeping you from the truth: We’re all going to die.
When you actually slow down, sit in stillness, and face this fear, something powerful happens.
You finally start to live.
The irony? When you accept your mortality, only then can you ask yourself the real question:
How do I want to live?
Every decision, every action, every relationship becomes filtered through the lens of meaning. If it doesn’t align with your purpose, your impact, and what you want to leave behind, it no longer matters.
So, take a breath… pause… and sit with the thought.
What if today was your last day?
What would you do differently?
Would you finally give yourself permission to actually live?
