The Lie That You Are Not Enough
Originally shared September 26, 2024 in the Naked Sunday Newsletter. Adapted for the journal.

“You are not enough.”
Who told you that? Was it a parent, a teacher, society? Or maybe it was that little voice inside, endlessly whispering, “You need to chase more to be worthy.”
The truth is, many of us fall into the trap of seeking validation and self-worth outside of ourselves. We latch onto titles, objects, status, money, relationships, and things as markers of our value.
But where, in all of that, did you ever pause to value the love and uniqueness within yourself?
The world preys on this lie. It capitalizes on your feelings of scarcity, selling you things you don’t truly want or need, convincing you that “just one more” of something will fill that void in your heart. Advertisers and influencers keep pushing, promising that the next purchase, achievement, or status symbol will finally make you feel whole.
But has it?
The most insidious part of this lie is how it warps your thinking. It makes you believe that accepting yourself as enough will somehow strip away your edge, your drive—the very qualities that led to your external successes. Yet, this fear is a distraction. When you genuinely understand that you are already whole, you unlock a deeper level of existence.
Living from a place of internal abundance and self-love pulls you to create true beauty. No longer chasing validation, you can finally express your gifts fully, providing the deepest impact and value to the world. You stop seeking to fill a void and start building a legacy rooted in authenticity.
So, let’s challenge that lie.
Who made you feel that way? Who told you that you needed more to be worthy? And most importantly—why have you believed it for so long?
The journey of life isn’t about becoming worthy; it’s about realizing you always were.
