Happiness Is Measured in Quality Time
Originally shared June 5, 2025 in the Naked Sunday Newsletter. Adapted for the journal.

There’s a question I like to ask clients when they say they’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or off track:
Are you hitting your minimums in the areas that actually matter?
I’m not talking about KPIs, revenue targets, or how many DMs you sent this week.
I mean the real stuff.
The stuff that keeps you sane.
Grounded. Fulfilled.
Things like:
Movement that recharges you (not punishes you)
Time spent with people who nourish your soul
Creative outlets that reconnect you to purpose
In short: quality time.
Because here’s the truth:
Happiness is measured in quality time.
But most people aren’t measuring it at all.
Instead, they chase more.
More leads.
More content.
More revenue.
But at what cost?
You can hit a new income goal and still feel empty.
You can grow your audience and still feel disconnected.
You can “crush your to-do list” and still feel like something is missing.
That “something” is usually your actual life.
It’s like someone working out 6 days a week, eating super clean…
…but sleeping only 3 hours a night.
Eventually, the system crashes.
Because the foundation wasn’t built to last.
If you want to stay consistent without burning out, you need to protect the non-negotiables:
The small, consistent deposits into your health.
Your relationships.
Your joy.
These aren’t luxuries.
They’re requirements for sustainable growth.
So if you’re feeling exhausted, ask yourself:
What’s stealing your quality time?
What can you remove from your schedule that doesn’t align?
Where can you protect space for what matters most?
Because more isn’t always better.
Sometimes, less but deeper is exactly what you need.
